I’m out on location today in beautiful Sydney. After watching Richmond scrape their way into the AFL finals last night, my friend and are being tourists today. In fact I’m writing while sitting in the sun with a view of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House. Life is pretty good right now.
Outfit: Sunnies (from a friend), Cardi (Thailand, $7), Tshirt (Thailand, $3.50), Jeans (Forever 21, $13) & Boots (hand-me-down)
I don’t think I’ve ever said this before, but this outfit was a bad choice.
Not look wise, I love the simple, sexy look of this, but for the amount of running around the city I’ve done today it is completely unsuitable. For starters my shoes have metal heels, not plastic, meaning you can hear me coming from a mile away. Secondly this dress, while an acceptable length for work, rides up when I’m walking meaning half of the CBD has seen my bum, and to top it off my stockings keep slipping down and I’ve pulled them up so much I ripped a hole in them.
So the moral of the story is; I should have worn pants…. And flats.
Outfit: Blazer (Portmans, $50), Dress (Misshop) & Heels (Vintage)
Tuesday is not a sensible night to go out. I say that from experience. When you have friends like mine there is no such thing as a few quiet drinks – we are all or nothing. Despite the pain I suffered on Wednesday, it was an enjoyable evening and a great opportunity to begin testing outfits for spring/summer. This cute apple print corset top has been neglected the last few years, but I think it will get a bit of work this year, as will this relaxed pony and hippy headband combo. I have this particular heart shaped headband in about 5 colours so prepare to see it showing up more and more often.
Outfit: Headband (DIY), Corset Top, Jeans (Target, $25) & Booties (Brunswick Shoe Warehouse, $35)
Life has been pretty hectic lately, both at work and in my over active social life. I’ve missed so many days of blogging lately that I think I might have to change the name of this blog to ‘EK’s Every Other Day Dress’. Doesn’t really have the same ring, does it? Guess I better just pick up my game! Let’s start with this super cute shirt dress….
Outfit: Ben Sherman Shirt Dress (Myer), Cardigan (CocoLatte, $6) & Wedges (Myer, $69)
Firstly, I’d like to clarify that this is definitely not what I wore to work today. This is actually from a few weeks ago, but I haven’t posted many casual outfits lately.
It is very rare that I put on anything but pyjamas when I get home from work, so I really haven’t worn something that isn’t corporate or for going out in ages.
It’s nice to put together a casual outfit, something slightly more than jeans and a Tshirt.
Outfit: Denim Jacket (OpShop), Bonds Hoodie (Under Denim Jacket), Tshirt (Gift from mum), Skirt (OpShop) & Booties (Kmart, $19)
Lately most of my going out outfits have been on the grungier (is that a word?) side, so I though it was about time I at least faked being fancy.
I don’t think my actions fully matched the classiness of this outfit, but sitting at a bar, dressed like this, drinking an espresso martini, I felt a bit like a 1950’s movie star.
Outfit: Jacket (Target, $50), Dress (Vintage) & Heels (Sexpo, $70)
Sorry for the silence yesterday, but I spent Tuesday and Wednesday staying in a hotel in the city and I didn’t want to revert to the old mirror photo. I’d prefer to give you nothing than something sub-par.
Because of said hotel stay, I also didn’t do any laundry this week and have no clean tights, so I had no choice but to finish the week in pants. My favourite thing about this relatively basic outfit are these killer t-bar heels. They were super, super cheap because they came with an awful oversized ruffle running down the front (and half falling off), but 10 mins and a bottle of nail polish remover and it was bye bye ruffles, hello heels 🙂
Outfit: Cue Blazer (hand-me-down), Top (hand-me-down from mum), Pants ($8) & Heels ($5) (Both Ozsale)
