Finally Recovered

It’s taken almost a whole week for me to recover from my weekend – so apologies for no posts this week. As an Australian, I feel it is forgivable for me to be a bit slack for at least 3 days post Australia Day as it is predominantly a drinking holiday (at least for me), but I must admit that is not where most of my recovery is from. I actually had a pretty big night out in the city on Saturday, which, when combined with a whole day drinking on Monday, required a lot more recovery time than usual.

I ask that you forgive my awful hair & make up in this pic (from last Friday) as it was taken after a hectic day at work.

Welcome Back

Nice of you to join us summer, but we were expecting you like AGES AGO!
It was kind of wrong to watch the Australian Open and see all the players and spectators look so comfortable, but here it is, the real Melbourne summer, when the BOM predicts a high of 29 degrees and we hit 34. I’m starting to get very comfortable with this whole “no tights” thing. Keep up the good work 🙂

Starting to Settle

Although I did manage to get one (very tidy) post out in my new place, now all of my junk…whoops, I mean stuff, is in its much harder to find a clear space to take a pic. This week I am making an effort to start putting in the time to do those little things like bringing out photos and trinkets and arranging them on my dressing table. Nothing makes me at home as much as having my priceless/worthless sentimental things out on display. A big bonus of the move is seeing all of my stuff as I arrange it, reminding me of things that had been lost in my cupboard for months, like this super cute blazer.

Outfit: Blazer (Valley Girl, $25), Necklace (Thailand, $6), Top (Target, $6), Pants (Ozsale, $20) & Sandals (Misshop, $10)

New Digs

For the first (and probably last) time ever – a clean room! No coats behind the door & no clothes on the floor! No, I have not had an aneurism, I just moved house. Right now everything is shoved anywhere it can fit and my clothes are all in suitcases/boxes/bags (mainly because I haven’t brought my draws in yet!) so it was relatively easy to clear everything out of vision to get a clear picture. It may take a few days of arranging and testing different angles before I get my permanent pic position, but in general I’m very excited to be moving into my new place with only 3 housemates (7 less than my old place) and *drum roll* my own ensuite!

Outfit: Cue Blazer (Hand-me-down), Top ($15), Skirt (Kmart, $5) & Heels (from mum)

I’m just gunna put it out there – I have the weirdest feet! They’re not grotesque, you wouldn’t notice it if I didn’t tell you, but my toes on one foot are different lengths than the other. This generally deters me from wearing peep toe shoes, as different toes peep on each side. But these black heels matched too well with yesterday’s dress, even down to the peep of skin on the shoulders.
It also taught me a very important lesson – no one is looking that closely at my feet!

Animal Fever

This is my second animal outfit in a row! It may be a little more subtle than yesterday’s leopard print post, but this top has a very cute horse print.
You will also notice that my room looks much cleaner than usual, this is because I move house this week. This may cause a few delays in posts and, very soon, a new setting for my daily picture. Lets hope I can keep the new place a little cleaner.

Pushing the Envelope

On Friday’s I like to push the envelope a little when it comes to my work attire. It’s never outrageous, but I tend to go with something a little tighter, a little shorter or a little fancier to celebrate the end of another week.

Last Friday was in the form of this leopard print dress. The temperature had dropped enough that I could wear tights, making it slightly more work appropriate. Best thing about dressing up a bit on Friday? I’m always ready for spontaneous Friday Night Drinks!
