When all else fails, stick to the classics.
It has been seriously hectic for me over the last week – I’ve had heaps of events to work on, we held a party at my house on the weekend and I’m currently having to cover reception as well as doing all my other work – so apologies for no posts in a while.
It’s times like this that I’m glad I have some seriously stylish dresses I know will work time and time again without too much thought – thank goodness!
Outfit: Dress (DFO, $20), Top (Supre, $8) & Heels (from mum)
You may have noticed lately I’ve had a little bit of fashion block. For a fashionista and blogger it’s a bit of an issue. Turns out, I’ve just been over thinking it, so it’s back to the classics. A timeless business dress is all I needed to get my style head back and the inspiration flowing – thank goodness!
Outfit: Dress (DFO, $20) & Wedges (Myer, $69)
I often spend so much time putting together the perfect outfit that I forget about the simple joy of basics. Today it is a very pleasant 27 degrees in Melbourne so I opted for beige tights and tonight I’m working at a cocktail party, so this super simple and classic black and white ensemble was an easy choice.
Outfit: Blazer (Portmans, $50), Top (Events, $20), Skirt (OpShop) & Heels (Ozsale, $12)
After about two months of trying to find a reasonably priced place in Melbourne, I finally had my good work shoes reheeled in Bendigo over the weekend. It was also a perfect opportunity to keep my whole outfit classic and simple, especially after a long weekend that involved lots of drinking and craziness.
Outfit: Cue Blazer (hand-me-down), Top (Review), Skirt (Thailand, $7) & Heels (Ozsale, $12)
I honestly have very little to say about this outfit, mainly because I’ve said it all before (see here and here). But it is an absolutely classic dress, I can’t imagine a time when I could put on this dress and not feel instantly sexy. ‘Nuff Sed.
Outfit: Dress (DFO, $20), Tshirt (Supre, $8) & Heels (Vintage, $2.50)
After my foray into colour it’s back to my classic black. I try my hardest to avoid all black outfits, but after trying an array of coloured blazers (green, pink, cream & orange) nothing seemed to suit as well as this black one. The seductively tight skirt and flattering cowl neckline prevent me from having retail all black uniform flashbacks!
Outfit: Cue Blazer (hand-me-down), Dress & Belt ($6, Ozsale) & pirate booties ($85)
I have now been working full time for over a year and a half. I’m finally about to have my first proper leave (two weeks in Thailand), but in the lead up I’ve been pressing snooze a few more times than I should, which results in quick outfit decisions, usually ending with a simple, classic outfit like this one.
Outfit: Cardigan (CocoLatte, $6), Top (OpShop, $5), Forecast skirt (OpShop, $6) & Jenkin Heels (Ozsale, $12)
