Jump(suit)ing into the weekend

IMG_0555

Happy end of the work week!

What better way to celebrate than with a fun Friday outfit.

You may recall this look from Ladies Night and it follows all my ideas from my Going Out post, so much so it’s actually the same look with this adorable bow print jumpsuit in place of the LBD.

I honestly have not worn this jumpsuit enough considering I purchased it at least 5 years ago, but I love that it works just as well with a jacket, tights and boots as it does solo with sandals.

Well that’s it for today kids, short and sweet. Now go out and enjoy your weekend!

Friday Nights, not Festivals

On the weekend I was meant to head off to my fifth and final festival of the season. Unfortunately I have been far too busy so I decided to sell my ticket and have a weekend at home instead.

I wholly intended not to go out, to stay at home and do all those things I’ve been putting off, like doing my laundry and cleaning up my room. But by the time I finished work on Friday I desperately needed to let off some steam – which I did in my usual fashion of a few (too many) drinks and some serious dancing.

It’s been a while since I got really dressed up and I was particularly excited about using my new Poppy Lissiman clutch for the first time.

Finally Recovered

It’s taken almost a whole week for me to recover from my weekend – so apologies for no posts this week. As an Australian, I feel it is forgivable for me to be a bit slack for at least 3 days post Australia Day as it is predominantly a drinking holiday (at least for me), but I must admit that is not where most of my recovery is from. I actually had a pretty big night out in the city on Saturday, which, when combined with a whole day drinking on Monday, required a lot more recovery time than usual.

I ask that you forgive my awful hair & make up in this pic (from last Friday) as it was taken after a hectic day at work.

Pushing the Envelope

2015/01/img_2918.jpg

On Friday’s I like to push the envelope a little when it comes to my work attire. It’s never outrageous, but I tend to go with something a little tighter, a little shorter or a little fancier to celebrate the end of another week.

Last Friday was in the form of this leopard print dress. The temperature had dropped enough that I could wear tights, making it slightly more work appropriate. Best thing about dressing up a bit on Friday? I’m always ready for spontaneous Friday Night Drinks!

Warm Friday Night

When it gets around to Friday my biggest goal is to make the time between finishing work and having my first drink as little as possible. Last Friday I managed to combine the two, working an extra few hours that happened to involve a glass of wine and a cider. The weather was so incredibly warm that I then headed straight to my friends to continue the evening.

As it was still 30 degrees at 8pm I decided to ditch the tights and blazer while we enjoyed beers on the rooftop (til 2:30am!) and then headed out dancing.

Friday Frazzle

IMG_2354-0.JPG

Ah, Friday. Thank god it is finally here! It’s been a bit of a downer week for me, including a sick day yesterday, but the antibiotics are kicking in and I’m looking forward to a fairly relaxed weekend with my family.
As I’m still not feeling 100% I wanted to keep my outfit very simple and comfy (yes I consider these heels comfy) and also keep in mind that I will most likely be running around catching up on work from yesterday.
I would also like to emphasize that I have been suffering from a chest infection for 2 weeks and have not had the energy to clean my room.

Hello Heels

IMG_2187.JPG

Sorry for the silence yesterday, but I spent Tuesday and Wednesday staying in a hotel in the city and I didn’t want to revert to the old mirror photo. I’d prefer to give you nothing than something sub-par.

Because of said hotel stay, I also didn’t do any laundry this week and have no clean tights, so I had no choice but to finish the week in pants. My favourite thing about this relatively basic outfit are these killer t-bar heels. They were super, super cheap because they came with an awful oversized ruffle running down the front (and half falling off), but 10 mins and a bottle of nail polish remover and it was bye bye ruffles, hello heels 🙂
