Jump(suit)ing into the weekend

Happy end of the work week!

What better way to celebrate than with a fun Friday outfit.

You may recall this look from Ladies Night and it follows all my ideas from my Going Out post, so much so it’s actually the same look with this adorable bow print jumpsuit in place of the LBD.

I honestly have not worn this jumpsuit enough considering I purchased it at least 5 years ago, but I love that it works just as well with a jacket, tights and boots as it does solo with sandals.

Well that’s it for today kids, short and sweet. Now go out and enjoy your weekend!

Vintage Von Trapp

IMG_0582

Who doesn’t love The Sound of Music? What better way to pay homage to the Von Trapp family than with my very own DIY dress made from furnishing fabric.

My mum loves fabric and has quite a hefty collection she’s been collecting for 30 years. She loves clothes just as much as I do (possibly more), both shopping and making her own, and has always had the knack for thinking outside the box and not limiting herself to a fabrics intended purpose.

She picked up this cute, retro vibe fabric from the furnishings department back when I worked at Spotlight. Despite being designed for upholstery, mum immediately thought it would make a super cute 60s inspired pinafore.

Played off perfectly with my heart shaped sunnies, this outfit is simple yet fun, perfect for a weekend of domestic duties, wondering through Camberwell Market and having an impromptu brunch with Helen.
